How to FTP to Rodin

In order to FTP file to Rodin, you must have an account on that server. Use your CDA username and password and the host name "rodin.cda.ucla.edu". Home directories (H: drives) are accessible via /users/. Class folders (G: drives) are accessible via /home/.

To ensure trouble free ftp access to Rodin, it is recommended you use a dedicated ftp client instead of a web browser.

Important Note for Macintosh Users: The ftp server software we use on Rodin does not support the Mac's resource fork. Most documents do not store critical data in the resource fork, but you will lose the icon and type/creator information when you ftp a Mac file to or from Rodin. To avoid this, you must binhex your files prior to transfer.
