this web microretrospective was created in vrml 2.0 at low resolution
for use with personal
computers and 28.8kps modems. it will take about 3 - 5 minutes
to download the exhibition.
please configure your browser for vrml files which use a file extension
of *.wrl.
older versions of web browsers like netscape 2.0 and microsoft explorer may require
upgrading and additional software [called plug-ins] to be able to interpret vrml 2.0.
you can find more information about this at cosmo.sgi.com. for anyone who may already
have a plug-in for vrml1.0 files there is a version of the exhibition in vrml1.0 format.
please note that vrml is an interpretive programming language and its performance and
appearance will vary radically from machine to machine depending on the computer's
configuration and software.also please remember that fonts are proportional so if you have
difficulty reading any text please correct the font size in your web browser preferences.
the viewer will note that unlike traditional museum retrospectives the current exhibition
does not require climate control and can be hung and viewed in mid-air. the location of the
exhibition is the air space over the plaza at the los angeles county museum of art.
embedded in the works on view are the exhibition title cards, conceptual abstracts, and
links to related exhibitions. these may be viewed by dragging the cursor over the images
to view the accompanying text or by clicking on an image to view an html link.
