Assignment 3: Arrangement and Response

Work in groups of two.

Objective:

• To demonstrate the use of mathematical compositional functions.
• To work with mouse movements

Description

Write the source code (with comments) for an applet that will display a composition of shapes. As the mouse enters the composition the shapes should respond to the mouse movement to form new compositional patterns. You are responsible for coming up with a composition scheme (for example using sine/cosine arrangements) and a mouse movement response algorithm (for example attraction, magnetism, fear, etc).

You can base your work on the code I have developed in class so far (should be in the class folder)

As usual:

• Zip your project and source files and call it yourNames.zip (yourNames is a variable for the two partners last names).
• Send a brief e-mail to sunp@ucla.edu explaining what you did, include the URL address of where your applet is posted and attach the zipped project.

Bonus:

Excessive creativity will be kindly appreciated and highly rewarded.
